The Los Angeles (L.A.) abrasion test (Figure 1) is a common test method used to indicate aggregate toughness and abrasion characteristics. Aggregate abrasion characteristics are important because the constituent aggregate in HMA must resist crushing, degradation and disintegration in order to produce a high quality HMA.
The aggregates passing through 12.5mm sieve and retained on 10.0mm sieve comprises the test material. (ii) Pour the aggregates to fill about just 1/3 rd depth of measuring cylinder. (iii) Compact the material by giving 25 gentle blows with the rounded end of the tamping rod. (iv) Add two more layers in similar manner, so that cylinder is full.
Aggregates may be broadly classi fied as natural or artificial, both with respect to source and to method of preparation. Natural sands and gravels are the product of weathering and the action of wind or water, while manufactured crushed fine aggregate and crushed stone coarse and fine aggregate are produced by crushing natural stone.
The aggregate crushing value gives a relative measure of the resistance of an aggregate crushing under gradually applied compressive load. The average aggregate crushing value of the sample was obtained as 13.47% as shown in Table 4. Tab. 4 - Results of Aggregate crushing value (ACV) test. S/N ACV 1 ACV 2 ACV 3 AVERAGE ACV
In my estimation,, the so-called two-aggregate mixture offers excellent possibilities for the use of a wide variety of sandstones. The pavement which results is extremely high type, neat appearing, non-skid, and easy to produce and lay. 1~. Williams has proved beyond doubt that full crusher
the. aggregate which require to be assessed. Accordingly, the relevant test methods may be chosen from amongst the various tests covered in this standard. For the convenience of the user, the test methods are grouped into the following eight parts of Indian Standard Methods of Test for Aggregates for Concrete ( IS : 2386-1963 ):
Jan 01, 2021 The slump cone test is one of the most commonly used test to determine the consistency of concrete as per IS 1199–1959.From the results of the slump cone test, it is observed that pumice lightweight aggregate concrete with 50% replacement has high workability compared to the other percentages of replacement. 9.2.

b The aggregate crushing value (ACV) of an aggregate is the mass of material, expressed as a percentage of the test sample that is crushed finer than a 2.36-mm sieve when a sample of aggregate passing the 13.2-mm and retained on the 9.50-mm sieve is subjected to crushing under a gradually applied compressive load of 400 kN.

In R, you can use the aggregate function to compute summary statistics for subsets of the data. This function is very similar to the tapply function, but you can also input a formula or a time series object and in addition, the output is of class data.frame.In this tutorial you will learn how to use the R aggregate function with several examples, to aggregate rows by a grouping factor.
